Become A Coach
Becoming a coach for USA Archery or NFAA can require several steps, depending on what level of coach you want to be. Below is an overview of the requirements and links to get you started. Certification is good for 3 years and may be renewable without retaking certification course.
Scheduled Coach Certification Classes

Level 1 Instructor
Level 1 is a basic safety and setup instruction course. This certification is often obtained by teens who want to assist in helping to teach classes. It gives the basics for running camp and scouting programs. It does not qualify you to run a USA Archery JOAD program (An archery club with USA Archery).

Prerequisites
Must be 15 years old
Must have passed the online portion of training through USA Archery.
Must have USA Archery membership - May have NFAA or ASA reciprocal membership
Must have passed USA Archery Background Screening if 18 or older
Must have completed SafeSport Training
Level 2 Instructor
Level 2 includes Level 1 instruction and provides additional information on conducting an archery program. This is the minimum required level to run a USA Archery Club. The National Training System steps are introduced in this training and some liability insurance coverage is provided through USA Archery to those who successfully complete all requirements for certification.

Level 3 NTS Coach
Level 3 moves from instruction to coaching. The National Training System will be emphasized as will Mental Management. Coaching philosophy, training cycles, and tournament preparation will also be covered.

Prerequisites
Must be 19 years old
Must have USA Archery membership - May have NFAA or ASA reciprocal membership
Must have passed USA Archery Background Screening
Must successfully complete SafeSport Training
Must take and pass Mental Management 101
Must hold current Level 2 certification for at least one year OR Pass Level 3 test-in exam AND verify at least 3 years of documented archery instructor experience.
